What is grassroots organizing?
Congress and federal agencies are primarily responsible for shaping the policies that govern Alaska’s wild lands. The challenge that we face as advocates and concerned citizens is to make our voices so loud that it is difficult for these officials to ignore us.
That’s where grassroots organizing comes in.
You can host video parties with your friends. You can hand out information at summer fairs and events. You can talk to your friends and colleagues and urge them to contact their members of Congress. These are all grassroots tactics. These are all ways to build a community of Alaska advocates who together have the force to influence our country’s decision makers.
