DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS

A donor-advised fund (or DAF) is a centralized vehicle for charitable giving that allows you to combine favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes like Alaska Wilderness League.

Donor-advised funds can be easily set up through a community foundation or your financial institution. If you already have a donor-advised fund that participates in DAF Direct (such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable or BNY Charitable Gift Fund), you can recommend grants to support Alaska Wilderness League directly below.

To search for your DAF, click the blue text above and it will popup a search tool where you can try to find your donor-advised funds.

Why a donor-advised fund could be right for you:

  • DAFs allow you to donate cash, stock and other assets as charitable gifts over several years.
  • DAFs provide a flexible and easy method of giving, especially if you support multiple charities.
  • DAFs can be used to complement or replace a private foundation you may use.
  • DAFs make Alaska Wilderness League’s job easier, too!

As with all gift planning, you should consult your financial adviser and lawyer to help you get started, and also for help recommending a grant to Alaska Wilderness League. Your donor-advised fund gift to the League will help protect and defend iconic national treasures in Alaska, and will support efforts to build power, create partnerships and secure new laws and administrative actions that safeguard these incredible places for generations to come.
