RSS News Feeds
RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication” and is also known as “News Feeds”. This enables you to subscribe to a website and let new content come to you as opposed to you repeatedly visiting the web site looking for new content. You can subscribe and read these news feeds with software known as “news readers” or “RSS agregators”. Many newer browsers, such as IE7 and Firefox, can read RSS feeds also.
If you see this icon in your address bar
, you can click on the icon and you will be subscribed to the newsfeed. (IE will save it in your “Favorites” and Firefox will save it in your “Bookmarks.” See detailed instructions for Firefox and IE7.) Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other vendors offer free RSS reading services. There are many full-featured commercial offerings also.
