Media Resources for BLM Issues
Alaska Wilderness League is actively working on BLM RMPs in Alaska. Each of the RMPs are in different stages of the NEPA process. This portion of our web page is intended to show the progress of our work as well as be a resource for individuals, communities, organizations and media.
Bay RMP
Nunamta Aulukestai (Care Takers fo our Land) lead the protest on the Bay Proposed RMP/FEIS on January 14, 2008, with AWL and several groups signing on. Earlier particpation and past comments were conducted by the Alaska Coalition and are available by request.
East Alaska RMP
Prior to the program becoming a part of Alaska Wilderness League it was run by the Alaska Coalition. AK Coalition participated in the entire planning process for the East Alaska RMP. The protest is available here, other documents may be requested via email.
Kobuk Seward Peninsula RMP
Alaska Wilderness League submitted a protest October 28, 2007 with several organizations signing on. Earlier participation and past comments were conducted by the Alaska Coalition and are available by request.
Ring of Fire RMP
Prior to the program becoming a part of Alaska Wilderness League it was run by the Alaska Coalition. AK Coalition participated in the entire planning process for the Ring of Fire RMP. The protest is available here, other documents may be requested via email.
