Mother polar bears in Alaska emerge from their dens every Spring with tiny cubs at their side. The bears must then make it to the sea, where they’ll begin to hunt for food following months spent beneath the snow. For mothers, it’s back to business as usual…but for the youngsters, it’s time to experiment on the newly frozen ice.

As cute as this video is, the realities of disappearing sea ice – and the effect it has on wildlife like polar bears – are heartbreaking. But you can help. Sign our petition to keep oil drilling out of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, a refuge for polar bears and a key locale where mothers den.
